For many of us, a real thorn in our sides are the traffic light sensors at many of the Santa Cruz intersections.
Here's what the applicable CVC says about it:
CVC 21800(d)(1): "The driver of any vehicle
approaching an intersection which has official traffic
control signals that are inoperative shall stop at the
intersection, and may proceed with caution when it is
safe to do so."
1. Your motorcycles are vehicles licensed to legally
operate on the roads of California.
2. If a signal switch detector loop does not detect a
vehicle because its mass is below the set detection
threshold, that switch and the 'official...signal' are
both deemed to be temporarily inoperative.
*You may want to print this out and keep it with to your registration, just in case "The Man" feels like giving you trouble the next time you're tired of sitting through 2-3 light cycles at 1:00 am.
