the hippy called emergency services, they asked her if her vehice was in the flow of traffic. She told them no. I don't think she understood the question.

Ironic this is the first time, in a long while, that I've not headed to SF without my funeral safety vest and traffic whistle.

It was insane how fast some of these cars were coming around Laurel and didn't slow down till it was almost too late. At least two close calls.

I recommend folks start packing a couple road flares in their tank/tail bags.

          Thanks to everyone involved.

          Dirty hippy Volvo nonce excluded.

being shot out of a cannon will always be better than being squeezed out of a tube. that is why god made fast motorcycles.

Did you have to carry the KTM home?

Now I don't feel so bad for missing the S.F. dual-sport rally (it was crappy weather for a trip up to S.F. on knobbies, anyway). Did anyone from Santa Cruz make it past Laurel curve? Just curious how the event went.

Nope, rode it. Did miss the rest of the ride though (bummer). Needed to head back to SV. The wife was a little emotional after hearing that there was a motorcycle crash at Laurel curve with multiple bikes and Vampires involved...

KTM builds one tough bike. Pretty solid impact from the Volvo. Didn't go down and damage is localized to the crashguard and leftside faring. Moore and Sons is going to inspect it this weekend for any hidden damage.

No Doubt! Tom is the man. He's one of my riding buddies too.
I talked to him today. He was a little concerned that the frame may have taken part of the hit, hence the deeper inspection.

By the way, on a totally unrelated subject, what am I seeing, looking at your avatar, a dirt pile in a forest thicket, or perhaps your noontime meal?
