the hippy called emergency services, they asked her if her vehice was in the flow of traffic. She told them no. I don't think she understood the question.

You guys did a stellar job working the accident scene and keeping the situation in control. Keith and I have exchanged emails and I sent him the scanned accident info card from CHP Officer Lewis. Plz ping me if you guys need any additional information or anything else.
I'm looking forward to getting to ride with you guys again under better circumstances!
Thanks Much for all Your help, we all appreciate it.
I had a road flare in my truck as did the bystander guy in the photo but neither one would light

Now I don't feel so bad for missing the S.F. dual-sport rally (it was crappy weather for a trip up to S.F. on knobbies, anyway). Did anyone from Santa Cruz make it past Laurel curve? Just curious how the event went.
Nope, rode it. Did miss the rest of the ride though (bummer). Needed to head back to SV. The wife was a little emotional after hearing that there was a motorcycle crash at Laurel curve with multiple bikes and Vampires involved...
KTM builds one tough bike. Pretty solid impact from the Volvo. Didn't go down and damage is localized to the crashguard and leftside faring. Moore and Sons is going to inspect it this weekend for any hidden damage.
No Doubt! Tom is the man. He's one of my riding buddies too.
I talked to him today. He was a little concerned that the frame may have taken part of the hit, hence the deeper inspection.
