just for clarification: from my newbie perspective- it looks like all the stuff you guys do (including use of this forum) is open to the public? (which is awesome). am i right? i host a monthly women's meet-up group ride in santa cruz- (first sunday of every month 10:30 am/ verve on bronson st) which has a broad variety of rider abilities, ages, and types of bikes. (no pun intended ) many of whom are either new to the area and/or looking for more opportunities to ride. i'd be happy to pass on the info about your rides - and vice versa-- if that's ok.

    thanks for the invite.
Almost every Sunday there is free training in motorcycle maintenance, plus general talking about motorcycles at Re-Cycle (ocean side of Laurel street between Center and Washington - parking lot by De La Hacienda taqueria). You may want to check it out, then possibly bring some of the folks on your ride along another month.

We welcome riders of all makes and abilities to all our rides. The Dark ride does take place at night and while we try and keep the pace moderate some newer riders may find it challenging.

And the forum is open to everyone that doesn't spam or abuse it.

        hi.
        thanks for your replies guys...
i didn't want to post a link on your forum without permission.
        here's the meet-up group link:
        http://www.meetup.com/Women-Motorcycle-Riders-Meetup/
and the ad we keep running on craigslist:
        http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/act/4581803414.html

like i said, this is a motley crew of ladies.
all ages. all riding abilities... and
        no bike snobbery here ....
        we had:
a big fat shiny bmw touring bike, a pretty triumph something or other,
        a yamaha TW 200 !!
an original ducati monster, a 1973 honda CB 350....
        and a sportster...

yes, we get some funny looks...

this is the ride we did yesterday:
        (the honda didn't survive....)

Now that we've completely jacked this thread, there's also a "Fast Girls" dirt school held out at Prairie City in Sacramento. It's taught by female racers, and it's a great intro to dirt skills, with some opportunities to do practice races on the dirt flat track. I've been to a lot of classes with the same instructors -- they're great. Class is open to ladies, all skill levels:

It's not looking good. I'm currently scheduled for surgery on the 15th. Even if I push it back a week I don't think I can make it this year.

                    Don't do anything I wouldn't do.

I'm planning to leave Oakland around 9am on Friday.

If you're in SC/SJ and want to meet up in Hollister, I expect to be rolling through and stopping for gas around 10:30am.

PM me for details if you would like to meet up in either Oakland or Hollister.
