Hi there Vampires and friends. I am moving to Felton on June 16 and am looking for people to hang out with. I am a school teacher, so my summers are spent riding around. I have been riding for 16 years on nothing but sportbikes. Right now, I own a 2005 GSXR 1000. I like to do track days and casual weekend rides. I plan on meeting you guys at Pergolesi on Thursday night...just thought I'd introduce myself. Drop me a line if we can ride soon. Thanks, Whizzer 8)

Re: New Santa Cruz local looking for buddies!
Our meeting this month was postponed - will be on June 8 instead of June 1 (first thursday of the month), so you'll find some one at Pergs June 8. Meeting time is 8:00 PM, be at pergs between 7:00 and 7:30 and someone will ride with you to our clubhouse.

Re: New Santa Cruz local looking for buddies!
Thanks for the reply, but I will not be able to be there until I move on the 16th. I would be interested in hosting a BBQ at my house in Felton, if you guys are interested. My house is about ten minutes from old town SC and is on Hwy 9. If nothing else, when can I meet you guys after the 16th? 8)

Sunday the 18th is a JFR ride day. Meet at Pergs 11:30, ride at noon. You're going live on hiway 9 in Felton? You'll have a neighbor that may turn out to be a ride buddy - he works with zoomzoom track days, has a short dirt track in his yard too."Mathematics are the result of mysterious powers which no one understands, and which the unconscious recognition of beauty must play an important part. Re: New Santa Cruz local looking for buddies!
Wow! Zoom Zoom is a great organization. Maybe you could message him for me and ask him to be on the JFK ride. Do you guys have anything set up for MotoGP? I have a room in Lover's Point and there is plenty of floor space for those interested. I will be there for the JFK ride...11:30, Pergolesi--SHARP! 8)

We've got a camp site at MotoGP."Mathematics are the result of mysterious powers which no one understands, and which the unconscious recognition of beauty must play an important part. Out of an infinity of designs a mathematician chooses one pattern for beauty's sake and pulls it down to earth."

Re: New Santa Cruz local looking for buddies!
Hey Creech,
I am in Forest Lakes on Lakeview Dr. (staggering distance from the bar). I will be closing escrow on the 15th, so I should be moving in on the 16th...as long as all goes well in escrow. I will be ready to ride on the JFK ride that weekend. I am also planning on riding quite often in the summer (since I'm a teacher with summers off). I hear the Vampires have a campsite at Laguna, are you going? I have a hotel in Lover's Point, so you can crash on the floor if you want to. Lemme know... 8)

Re: New Santa Cruz local looking for buddies!
Very cool.. welcome to the neighborhood. I'm going to miss the JFR cuz I'll be at thunderhill for the AFM races. As for motoGP, I've got camping and will be haulin' the toybox down there, but thanks for the offer. Once you do get settled in, let me know and we'll hit the twisties.. Just a word of caution, I'm a big fan of the goat trails out there...

Right on - T-Hill is gonna be a scorcher that weekend. Bring lots of beer...I mean water. Are you racing or watching? My buddy just broke his leg at Infineon after he crashed in his first race in AFM. I've never ridden T-Hill, but I would be interested in going soon. I just did a track day at Infineon, what an awesome track! It's hard to belive that Mladin does 1:33's there and I could only pull off a 1:48! By the way...what goat paths, where? :-/

Re: New Santa Cruz local looking for buddies!
yeah, I'm going to be racing in Formula 4 and 650 twins on my 01 SV650.
As for goat trails, that area is full of poorly maintained twisty roads that are perfect for a supermoto. I just my my new bar risers, bars and steering damper, so I'm hoping to get that all on there and give the ol' XR some maintance love over the weekend.

Re: New Santa Cruz local looking for buddies!
Sounds like superoto heaven. I would like to get a supermotard someday...maybe in a year or so. I guess I'll stick with the '05 GSXR 1000...poor me! I hear there are many rods to go for a ride on in the SC mountains. I only know about Hwy 9 and Skyline (Alice's). I hope to ride more soon. I want to get to an AFM race soon, but all of my friends that ride in it are crashed or quitting racing all together. Perhaps I'll catch your race at Infineon next time... 8)

Re: New Santa Cruz local looking for buddies!
Felton Empire, then about any direction you want to go is good (ie Empire grade down to campus, up to Alba or Jamison Creek, over to Bonny Doon and down to the coast...)
Roads on the other side of 17 are also good. Fill up your tank and explore! JFRs will help you do this with people that have already ridden the route."Mathematics are the result of mysterious powers which no one understands, and which the unconscious recognition of beauty must play an important part. Hi there rz350racergl...I'm pleased to make your acquaintance. Are you going on the JFR ride on the 18th? I am looking for new riding buddies and the more the merrier. I assume that you have an RZ350; that is one bike I've always been in awe about. The power delivery is rumore to be hair-igniting! Thanks for dropping me a line...I hope to meet you soon. Are you going to MotoGP?
