I rode right through this also, the bike was being loaded on to a tow truck and the explorer was changing his tire in front of it. I couldnt tell the extent of the accident, there was no outlines of bodies or big puddles of body fluid(didnt want to say the "B" word). However, I did almost run over the brake or clutch lever laying between the lanes, I think it was a cruiser type bike though, so wouldnt fit my bike, kept going. Late to work again.........

I spotted the traffic as I went across the B40 overpass and took the backroads to work (near Dominican) from which I could see an accident near Soquel. Tuned into the traffic report and found out there where two accidents at that time. The helivac came into Dominican shortly after and then headed over the hill. Considering the heavy traffic and slow speeds at the time, I assume the evac was for the biker.

Here is the Sentinil's version, no way to know what realy happend as I often read stories about calls I was on that are wildly inacurate.

Motorcyclist blames rising sun for crash

A 49-year-old Santa Cruz motorcyclist was flown by helicopter Wednesday morning to San Jose Medical Center after he struck three cars on southbound Highway 1 near Morrissey Boulevard, said officer Jason Butler of the California Highway Patrol.
The man suffered a compound fracture to his lower leg, and complained of neck pain in the 7:30 a.m. accident, Butler said.

The man told officers the sun made it impossible to see the cars slowing in front of his 1997 Kawasaki. The crash closed the fast lane and backed up traffic.

The unidentified motorcyclist struck the back of a 2002 BMW X5 driven by a 44-year-old Scotts Valley man, sideswiped a 1992 Ford Explorer driven by a 36-year-old Watsonville man and hit the back of a 2001 Ford Ranger driven by 26-year- old Carmel Valley woman, Butler said.

The crash is under investigation, he said.

I'm surprised they didn't say it was a Kawasaki "racing style" motorcycle as the CHP seems wont to do to inflame the public opinion against sport bikers.
