    Date: Wed, 28 Jul 2004 19:10:39 -0700

Make sure to attend the Suspension 101 Seminar at San Jose BMW on Thursday,
July 29 beginning at 6:30 PM.

This will be a very informative technical discussion, encompassing the
principles of motorcycle suspension, application and setting adjustment of
damping characteristics, spring preload, rider sag and more. Of course, we
will discuss the patented BMW Telelever/Paralever design as well as
    traditional cartridge fork/monoshock suspension.

If you want to learn about how to set your bike up for optimal suspension
performance, you need to be at San Jose BMW for this event.

We'll have refreshments, a Q&A session following the presentation, and a
    surprise special guest!

If you ride to the event, we will set up your suspension to accommodate your
riding preference and style for only $9.99! This is a one-day only special
so make sure to ride in and get here early to make the most of this one-time
offer, for a savings of up to $110.00! And don't forget, as part of San
Jose BMW Jumpin' July Savings Spectacular, all Ohlins Shocks are on sale for
10% off thru July 31. If you have been thinking about the long overdue
suspension upgrade, the time is now and San Jose BMW is your source for
    superior BMW suspension performance.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday evening, July 29th at San Jose BMW

Oh putain de putain! I totally need to attend one of these seminars!! I will miss this one! Is that a repeat event? Does Moto Italiano have similar seminars? I have no clue how my suspension should be set for the road, but right now it is as tight as it can be and every bump on the road goes directly to my bones...

Unless you really understand how suspension works it is almost as difficult to get someone else to set your suspension up as it is to just do it yourself. Phil will have dificulty setting up your bike if you don't know what you want or how the bike "should" feel. There is no perfect adjustment that a bike can roll away on that works for everybody. Each individual has a preference even if they don't know it or haven't felt it yet. I had Jonah and Tamara set my suspension up and it was a big improvement over the original setting and probably works great... on the track... Way to stiff on the goat trails I ride regularly. I'm going to try to attend the next Doc Wong clinic with Gary Jaehne on suspension setup to learn the mysteries of the beasty for myself.
