Being that you arent a speed freak like alot of us tend to be, I would go for light and comfort, Keeping in the superbike theme would put you on a 650 of sorts. I think the Suzuki sv is actually too under powered and yet their GSRX would be over the top. The R6 is out, unless you want to die. Maybe the new Ninja 600 would suit you. Maybe you arent even a sport bike kinda guy, Dual sport maybe? I would say the BMW seems to be the trend lately, but a little pricey unless used. Lonnies bike would have been perfect for you, but that went to Barretts brother and then away somewhere else. The only other bike that comes to mind is the Monster, you can poick those up used pretty cheap, but dont buy the wrong one that needs thousands of dollars to get the Valves done. I donno, maybe it should be a pole or something. Hell, I can cut you a hell of a deal on my Sv1000S, its still got over 3 years left on the warranty, and I cant seem to get it to 160mph, close, but not there. If I lost 10 pounds and ran race gas it would, but that last 4 miles seemed to be so far away, so its gone forsure now, bye bye bike!!!! C-ya
    Maybe something like this:

I was gonna tell you... Why don't you get a Mille?..  ;D but there is a bike I saw at Scuderia that looks better for twisties. Don (owner of Scuderia) talked to me about it for a while and showed me some specs, the KTM 950 Adventure and its black supermoto version are just incredible! In mountain roads they handle better than my bike, straight up right position will save you back aches, very versatile and cheaper. Don told me he sells it to people who come in the shop ready to buy a Mille. Well... just a suggestion! When it comes to dual sports and supermotard there are people on this forum who know quite a bit (waaay more than I do).. Just ask them..  As Eric said there are plenty of reliable and affordable options. Maybe that BMW or that VFR that are for sale on the Vamp Bike Sale section...
Good luck! Bike shopping is fun!!!!!
