so, after having my nice, perfect condition 1989 CBR1000F for two weeks, and dealing with people driving on the wrong side of the road, its finally happened. i was travelling north on Centennial Blvd, at about 60 kmp. as i enter the intersection, a leboneze woman traveling south, turns right, right in front of me. i swerved to the left ( as you would in the states when someone turns left in front of you...), and smashed into the side of her car. she was kind enough to stop in the middle of the intersection, and let me plow into her. the bike is fucked. a pretzel. amanda got away with bumps, bruises, and dirty shorts. oh, and a fractured cheekbone. i hit the A-arm of the car. smashed both the windshield and my shoulder. so, after two weeks, im out a $4500 bike, a $300 dollar riding jacket ( amanda's had to be cut off), amanda's $300 helmet, and my $400 helmet. we both blacked out for a few minutes. the drugs are nice, and we are healing well.

NRMA. apparently they are the best down here. they have trucks that run around and give roadside assistance to anyone. they have motorcycle service too.

Re: too bad i dont get a stackholio pin.....
we were both wearing full-face. mine was a 'nitro' racing helmet, and hers was an 'm2r'. never heared of either, but mine was priced just below arei(?) and suomi(?), and hers was the next cheapest, with about 4 or 5 brands untill you reached HJC. apparently they are bottom rung here too. so, the bike is totaled out. insurance is giving me full replacement value, plus replacment for gear, towing and medical. plus another $10g for 'pain and suffering'. painkillers hell, full replacement and $10 grand makes me feel preety damned good. next up- a 2005 honda cbr 959. they call the cbr line 'fireblades' down here. more to come......

I used to have a 92 fireblade in Japan. it was a crazy damn bike. It was a more power than brains kinda bike. I started riding scooters after that bike.First poster of 2007.

Re: too bad i dont get a stackholio pin.....
so, i started stripping plastic off the bike yesterday. aside from the broken plastic and bent fairing frame, its all good. as i was stripping it down, i noticed some things. paint marker on some spots. lower engine. its been rebuilt. fairing frame. its been wrecked. had the frame checked out. frame and forks are both straight. the head bearing is being replaced anyway. in other news, amanda has a class 3 concussion. shes with the doc right now. the cops want to see our helmets for evidence. looks like they are going to string-up the other driver. the cops investigating it are riders too. my lawyer predicts 5 figures, plus medical. all for now.

Re: too bad i dont get a stackholio pin.....
im having a hard time finding parts. the manufacturers plate on my bike says 1989. the VIN decoder i downloaded says its a 1989. but, according to parts listings and honda itself, the 1000F was made from 87-88, and 90-97. no 1989 model. anyone help with this?
heres the VIN:

any helpful input would be great.
