Some of you old tymers may remember the Song Dog Ranch as a "motorcycles only" place to camp in southern California. Sad news:

I just heard via the grapevine (ok, Usenet) that Song Dog Ranch has been closed indefinitely...
Apparently, someone held a music festival up there, and it was a bit, er, loud, and someone in the valley(?) complained, and the sheriff showed, then the DA, and it was determined that in fact Song Dog had no permits for anything they were doing up there, so the county shut them down until they
can obtain permits and zoning and... which presents a rather large wall of bureaucracy.
