  • Local "Team Building" exercise- disguised as fun

Like I said- Lugnut's arrival in Alaska really got the ball rolling up here, and a few of us have really committed to taking stuff to it's conclusion, one way or another, and have committed to coming on down on Nov 4th. Since this takes a level of commitment, we have decided to just make every wednesday until Nov meeting day, and twice a month until next summer.

We work on bikes, stunt bikes, talk bikes and fix bikes. Got a good cross section of dudes here now, motivation is high, and we are having some good naughty fun as well!

We were going for a group ride- but we all got wrapped up fixin' the stunt bike up a bike- a 600 Gixxer. It was hacked on, sure, but we cleaned it up for more fun- I am building a 12 step for it soon, but we got it looking and feeling like we want it for now- Dave, AKgriz is his handle here, has a kick ass gorguous totally restored CB900F- he donated some bars after the fun last night-so we should be able to get some better wheelies on it- the balance point is very hard to get with the bars that are on it now.

Well, at least, that is our excuse!

    Some of the fellas!

Nice pic of AKgriz's CB- stunt bike in the foreground.

My old Z1 on the floor, customer bikes on the stands- fuggin' shop was crowded yesterday!

Safety gear was worn by all- the younger guys didn't wear the elbow and knee pads like us older fellas- but they did wear the gloves and back protector and helmet- gotta give them that- great practice place- too small a parking lot to get out of second gear- all nice and legal, no cop hassles to ruin our good naughty fun! My wheelies were the weakes I think- Nigel, one of our core group, had some really nice wheelies- Eric- Ethmc here, had some good stoppies!

AKgriz gettins some air- he did pretty good- bravest of the ol farts (that would be me and him LOL)

My weak azt wheelie. I am hopig the new bars allow me to find that balance point and go eleven o'clock high next time!

Nigel (o3fazer on many boards) got the best wheelies of the day- found the balance point real well!

Ethmc's best pic of the day - he had it 11'clock high, but didn't sustain it quite as well as Nigel- but I wish I got a better pic of his stoppie- good one!

That poor GSXR, at least it's only a water cooled.

Ooo, and that poor gixxer has been BEAT on. It has gone through like three stunnas now!

And if there is an oil head 1100 anywhere- I will buy it and put it in my shop- and NOT as a stunt bike. I SOO badly want to build a 7/11

I had to buy a perfectly good 1100 and take it apart for my 7/11. If I see any pop up on the oil boiler forums, I'll let you know.

Here's a semi recent picture of mine. Shooting for a wet weight of just under 400 lbs. 89 750 frame, 91 1127 engine, 02 750 swing arm, 03 1K front end and rims. Mikuni RS38's that I might swap out for Keihin 41's. Got a full Akro race system for it from the UK. It's slowly coming together, way behind schedule and way over budget.
