  • 30 Days of Night... the movie.

In the Vampire tradition Ted of Finland and I saw the premiere of 30 Days of Night with the San Luis boys. The film was pretty good and teh vampires were really evil and creepy looking.

Not a bad flick. Fully worth the matinee price.

What night do we wanna go in Santa Cruz? Mariah and I have already promised a friend of ours we'd take her. But we could do it all on the same night.

WE are getting into the near all dark cycle here in Anchorage- we are a far bit south of Barrow- quick trivia answer about barrow- it is not "30 days of night"- it is closer to 90 days of dark- but I guess" 72 days of night" just doesn't sound as cool LOL

For many years, Alaskans have talked about how good a place Alaska would be for Vampires in the winter. Isolated poeple, and no daylight. Makes you wonder why they didn't do a movie on it sooner?

Two movies about Alaska out right now- the one mentioned here, and "into the wild" - the story about McCandless starving to death not far from where I live now.

The first one- good clean entertainment. McCandless story? The glorifying of a bright kid with no clue about the wilderness starving himself to death while pool of fish swam not 100 yards from his bus.

Stick with the vampire flick on this one!

I couldn't agree with you more. I read the book 10 years ago, and though well written (by an author who's following books I'm not too thrilled about) the kid struck me a foolish at best. Sad.
