  • My new wheels

I just dropped 7 large on a new set of wheels. I wanted to put spinners on it but the stock wheels are pretty bling and cost about a thousand all by themselves. My coworkers laughed at me when I told them I was going to equip it with a blue neon under carriage lighting effects kit. Apparently they don't believe I'm serious.

If only it came with a motor. You'd think for that much money it should.

Correct. It's a $9,000 dollar box I got for $5,400 with my old box trade in. After Ahnold's share and 10% financing charge it came out to around $6,800. The purchase came with $750 tool credit on the Snap-on truck and when my tool guy dropped It off he told me he convinced the rep. that I was a highly valued customer and swung me additional $500 tool credit totaling $1250 free stuff. He had no obligation to do that and totally surprised me with it.

My trade in Remline box cost about $1800 wholesale when it was new so I got excellent value for it.

Absolutely. I'll have it in your hands Friday but I'll need it back before I leave on Sun. I can bring down a good quality 1/2 IR impact gun too if you need it.

In my shop our primary goal is to be the best overall facility available to anyone anywhere. We are ranked in the top 10 independent repair facilities in the entire country. One way we do this is with all 11 of our techs. pooling knowledge and resources. We have hundreds of years of combined experience and hundreds of thousands of dollars in combined tools. No tech would think twice about helping another in any way possible especially if it is going to help get a job done and a customer back on the road. 'Specialy if it is something as simple as loaning out a tool. I'm aware that there is a "fuck you buy your own" attitude among some technicians but they don't have a place in the future of our industry where we must look upon other shops as comrades in arms rather than competition and we must share knowledge and resources with fellow techs and other shops in order to flourish in the age of complex technological advancement in the industry.
