I don't see anything on their web site. Do you have a link?

cool stuff Seric, what software are you using? Linux based?
I've been tempted to try wardriving for a while, but the most I've done is the occasional iwlist wlan0 scan when I'm on vacation. While up in Wendover NV it turned up nada. The hotels don't even offer something you could pay for, just dumn stares when you ask. I think the truck stop has something, but I didn't try this year. To hot to be bothered.

The map looks like SC wasn't involved. Have you driven by my house by chance? I'm interested in what it turns up since I'm next to the freeway. I've looked at wardriving maps before (WiGLE, but my ssid doesn't come up in any searches), but nothing has come up (some encryption).

thanks, I'm on Linux though. I know there is different stuff out there, just curious what Seric is using.

I haven't been wardriving in around 8-10 years. Back in the day we were running freeBSD on Fujitsu tablet PC's with a serial Garmin GPS attaches. All of the code was Pete's which Marius later used to make NetStumbler. We didn't have any fancy ass software to use, since no one else was doing it yet.

For the Chronicle I built a quick setup using a WindowsXP laptop, I put netstumbler on it, and picked up a USB GPS at Fry's. I then paid the $12.00 for a license of GPS Gate to emulate a USB-Serial for netstumbler. It also took away some of the proprietary crap coming down the line from the Garmin USB GPS, and emulated a oldschool Garmin Binary signal. I used a old Lucent Gold card for the drive itself, since it already had a port for my MagMount wardriving antenna. We used Wigle to generate the maps.

                      Shane, start here:
                      http://www.wardriving.com/code.php

Pete's code is also linked from here, with modules needed to run it. I have no idea what's going on with dis.org right now, if it's not up later I can give him a call and have him email me the code.

I went and picked up a Pharos usb gps device and got gpsd running, pretty cool, but sometimes its putting me in my neighbors house (lat seems spot on, but long drifts east)

I tried looking for Pete's code, but the war driving page links to 'Shots from Pete's Cam' which really looks like mapped war driving results.

Looks like there's other stuff out there I can try, and I think I might be able to hack up a bash script to do some basic scanning too.

Yummy cookies by the way, great treat for the ride home.
