The future of sportbike exhaust looks something like this:

Just about every '09 sportbike I saw had gigantic cans like that. The '09 R1 is even worse.

Speaking of big, here's one of the biggest damn motorcycles i've ever seen:

At it's widest point that front fairing is about 3.5' wide.

edit: I just fact checked that, it's actually 44.9" at it's widest point. Dry weight is claimed to be 849lbs, before you put 7 gallons of fuel and 5 quarts of oil in.

There were a few custom bikes there. One had a completely custom frame, and actually put the rear brake on the output shaft behind the front sprocket:

probably good for reducing unsprung mass or something, but it also looks cool.

    Cutaway kawi:

The Ural's were there, but that was the only sidecar presence that I saw. I even snapped a shot of my favorite manufacturer warning evar:

Clearly I've spent far too much time communicating with the shambling animals that represent urban America. Forgive my faux pax.

I found out through a voicemail from Moike that he had his new race rig on display in a separate hall apart from the main venue. Unfortunately I didn't get word of this until I was already home. Oh yeah, that also meant I missed out on a large collection of vintage Japanese cafe racers!
