I'm concerned about rather there will be a decrease in quality of signal and battery life with the smaller unit. Hopefully they've replaced the Nemerix chipset with something that balances power consumption with performance a little better. The current chipset is super power efficient, but not very effective for some of the sports they claim this device can be used for. I've been meaning to pick one up regardless of these problems, simply because it has a price point that can't be met by the more reliable 406mhz beacons.
