Back in 2006 the SFMC got a private tour of the A&A Racing collection in San Carlos, which includes Kenny's TZ. If it wasn't amazing enough to see this legend up close, they even fired it up and allowed a member's brother to ride the beastie up and down the street a few times!

I remember, back in the day, watching Kenny Roberts tear it up at the San Jose Mile. Awwwww, good times.

Does the San Jose Fairgrounds still do flattrack? I haven't thought about that in years. I was probably 13 or 14 years old the last time I went.

A few months ago they held flattrack races at the Stockton track and billed it as the furthest west that they raced. I don't know when San Jose stopped hosting them. My fondest memory is a little race with Kenny and others on pit bikes in a corral in the pits and getting yelled at for raising too much dust during the heat races. They all smoked me, I was just a little kid on a Honda Trail 70. Good memories, though. Just sharing the same dirt with Kenny was too cool. I'm guessing this was in 1970 or 71.
