The Short of It...
Joe Simitian's proposal to gut OHV to the tune of 21 million passed subcommittee. It is now on the the way to the full budget. The projected view is that this will kill Metcalf in 2013 and Hollister in 2014 due to a lack of operating funds.

Please contact Governor Brown's office toady and tell him to veto any budget plans to take away funding
from the OHV Division of State Parks.

Props for this. I tried to explain to BARF a while back that online petitions amount to zip (and they do). Phone calls and actual letters mean you took the time (and spent $0.49) to really do something, and that's what gets people's attention at the capitol.
