70 miles per gallon on 600cc engine? Doubtful, unless he's running a tiny rear sprocket.

My DRZ400S with stock gearing is averaging 56 miles per gallon, when I don't exceed 55 mph.

Bah! pessimists! Maybe this guy goes down hill to work with the wind to his back, both ways. Sun is always shinning too. And he has a flock of nymphs that follow him around.

You're welcome to take my DR650 out for a ride if you want. Just bear in mind that you'll be seeing what the bike is like with 70,000 miles and a bit of neglect on it. I need to replace the front brakes, which have gotten old and crochety, and the engine needs to be rebuilt. And I haven't started it in a couple of months. Really ought to do that.
