  • WTB: scotts oil filter cup wrench

i am looking for a cup wrench for the scotts oil filter on my 2001 cbr600 F4i. i have looked on their website and e mailed them 2x with no response. even just what size it is would be helpfull. my mechanic said he thinks its a special size since none of his cup wrenches fit it. i should get it soon though since my last oil change was like 6 or 7k ago. gonna change my name to jerry

Was the last oil change the one you did at my old shop? Didn't i have a wrench for you? Or did we borrow one from my landlord?

no dan at bits and pieces did it when i took it in to have valves done. we used channel locks at your shop, it fucked up the filter a bit

Is it a reusable filter assembly or something?

yeah, its a scotts stainless steel oil filter. its good for the life of the bike. filters down to 35 microns which is slightly larger than a white blood cell. the filter cost $100 when i got it. now theyre ~$136

I think I have an extra factory Honda filter wrench laying around somewhere. I'll see if I can find it for you. Does the Scotts filter use a different size? I don't imagine a pro mechanic not having the wrench if it's the same size as OEM. They should include the wrench with the filter kit if it's different
