1993 Suzuki GSX-R 750 Project - $1200 O.B.O.
Clean title in hand. Reg. paid thru 4/10. Currently garaged in SoMa.
For sale is my Water Cooled GSX-R 750 project. The engine will need to be rebuilt or replaced. There’s a rather prominent bottom end knock & pretty little copper flakes came out with the oil. There is a 2nd complete engine, rumored to have dropped a valve, but I’ve never inspected it. I’ve decided I don't want to do the top end on this 2nd motor & stick it in the bike, but you could. Or you could drop in any 750 or 1100 engine from '93, '94 or '95, they aren’t too hard to come by.
I picked up this project about 10 months ago intending to fighter it out & have some fun. In the interim, a friend & I inspected every bit of the wiring harness, clearing all shorts & jumbled bodge-jobs for the previous owner(s). All connections were soldered & heat shrink’d. Carbs were astoundingly rusty so they were stripped, cleaned & rebuilt with new Dynojet carbs kits. All that rust came from the tank so I stripped & cleaned it using Por-15’s Marine Clean & Metal Ready products, no tank sealer was used. I’ve spent a lot of time & energy ironing out the kinks. It’s a bit frustrating walking away from this project, but it was fun & I’m ready for something new, maybe a twin.
