  • For sale: KTM620SX supermoto, with extras!

    Selling for $2800
CL link here: http://sfbay.craigslist.org/scz/mcy/3323031768.html (has the pics)

I'm selling my '99 supermoto! Not super excited to be selling it, but the truck needs an engine, and i've got other bikes. So something's gotta give.

When I bought this bike it was an ex AFM racer, and had been tricked out but abused. I've gone through it and fixed all the expensive stuff, all that's left is a little cosmetic bits, which honestly I didn't care about. It's a supermoto. I bought it to ride fast and annoy the police, not look pretty.

The engine's been tricked out for a little more power. It'll run on 91, but if you put 100+ (unleaded!) it'll pull powerwheelies in first through third gear. With a 300lb rider on the bike. No joke. Behave yourself.

It's hard to keep track of all the work i've done on this bike, so i'll try to break it down as best I can.

    Paperwork:
    -Currently registered
    -Title in hand.

    Engine:
    -New rings ~200 miles ago
-New head gasket ~200 miles ago
-New base gasket ~200 miles ago (Heads up, runs a thinner base gasket for increased compression.
-Keihn flat slide carb (rebuilt, you guessed it, ~200 miles ago)
    -IMS 4.4 gallon tank.
-IMS extra thick seat. Helps reduce the, ah, awkward vibrations.
-Clutch bearing (bearing between clutch and transmission) upgraded from a roller bearing to a pin bearing.
    -New ignition coil
    -New crank ignition pickup
-New rock oil double ester synthetic every 600 miles. Or more.
-Akropovic full titanium exhaust system. It's a bit loud, but awesome.
-New water pump ~1500 miles ago
    -New thermostat ~1000 miles ago

    Chassis:
-New Baja Designs kit (~1000 miles ago):
    --reg/rec
    --battery
    --Switch cluster
    --Ignition switch
    --LED brake light assembly.
-Added a centerstand from a 640, as the bike didn't have one when I bought it.
-TrailTech X2 headlight (note, it's acting flakey, see the 'bad' section below)
    -Tires: Bridgestone BT016. 90% left.
-Super awesome WP forks that so many KTM enthusiasts are in love with. (But they need to be refreshed, see the 'bad' section below)
    -BRAKING 320mm rotor
    -Brembo master cylinder
    -Veypour cluster

Extras that come with the bike:
-Dirt wheels with brand new dirt tires.
-Flat track wheels, hub is broken on one of them.
-Original 2 gallon "is that it?!" gas tank.
    -Original seat.
-I think i've got some spare clutch and brake levers for this puppy.
-At least one extra set of brake pads
    -sprocket, chain
-Pretty sure i've got the stock exhaust and dellorto carb that came with this bike. But..why bother?

    ##THE BAD##
    -The bodywork is ugly.
-The headlight doesn't work right. Lowbeam works intermittently, but highbeam doesn't work, and will cause the lowbeam to go out. I rushed to put the headlight on last minute before a ride (old one broke), and did a crap job of it.
-Front brake light switch is broken, it'll just leave the brake lights on all the time. You should fix that.
-The rear brake light switch is flakey, i'll admit I used too thin of a gauge wire there, and it kept breaking. At some point I gave up and soldered the damn thing on.
-This bike doesn't have a counterbalancer, so if you don't attach things exactly right (with appropriate amounts of loctite) You lose them.
-Veypour cluster is ziptied on. Original mount was lost. See above.
-Front fender is just a cut down dirt fender. Old school. Woo. It's too short, and will fling water up in your face. Momentarily hilarious when riding through the rain at night, and the fountain of water is illuminated by the headlight. But the 2-wheeled bellagio gets old fast. Get yourself a longer SM fender.
-Rear fender was inexpertly cut to fit the IMS seat by yours truly.
-Left rear turn signal is gone. It's right in line with that high flow titanium exhaust. So unless you're prepared to make an offset bracket for the rear signals... Look, just don't get attached to that signal.
-Forks need to be gone through.
-New clutch perch doesnt get along with the mirror and the light switch assembly, so you can't move the decom lever all the way.
Most of the important stuff (Valves, gaskets, clutch bearing, carb rebuild and jetting) was handled by Tom over at Moore and Sons. Great guy!

Ok. There ya go. An insanely sick bike, priced to sell fast. Shoot me an email, i'm pretty responsive. Test rides with cash in hand.

Oh, you can ride the bike home, but bring a truck or big car to carry all of the extra goodies i'm including with the sale.

James- I'll do a favor for you, only cuz you're sometimes a nice guy: I'll ride your bike around, for a minimum of 500miles/week, with a "FOR SALE" sign to get publicity. I will park it in public areas like busy restaurants, Safeway parking lots and company lots to attract customers. Let me know when I should pick it up.

Yes, because you and other members supermotos have had such great history.
