clutch problem?

Some new bikes are fly by wire, I don't know quite how those work. Most EFI bikes use butterflies actuated by a cable, just like with carbs.

Trufax. Most FI bikes are still cable driven, with a TPS on the TB to pick up throttle position and feed it to the ECU.

The R1 is fly-by-wire. It has cables that come off the throttle tube to a dedicated TPS under the tank. A stepper (well, it might be a servo) controls the actual throttle position on the throttle body. It's vague, laggy, and the only thing I don't like on the R1.
